Realizing the Dream is the program arm of The King Center for Nonviolent Social Change in Atlanta, GA, USA, which since 1968 has been the official, living memorial to Martin Luther King, Jr. Originally founded by Martin Luther King, III as an independent nonprofit organization, Realizing the Dream is devoted to continuing the nonviolent work of Dr. King into the 21st century.

MISSION

To champion freedom, justice and equality by working to redress poverty, build community and foster peace through nonviolence.

VISION

To continue the humanitarian and liberating work of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Mrs. Coretta Scott King by rearticulating for this century the challenges and opportunities for championing freedom, justice and equality, while working to eliminate poverty, prejudice and hostile conflict in the United States and throughout the world.

OUR APPROACH

JM Israel Training_tallTo leverage the moral authority of the King legacy to (1) enable collaborative partnerships across sectors by acting as an intermediary and convener, (2) create the next generation of peacemakers through nonviolent leadership development, with special emphasis on youth; and (3) empower the global public through research, education and training.
